Ukraine-Russia war latest: US should send Kyiv more air defence missiles, congressmen say

US should send Ukraine more air defence missiles, congressmen say

The US government should respond positively to President Volodymyr Zelensky’s request for more air defence missiles to shield Ukraine’s capital from a threatened escalation in Russian bombardment, two U.S. congressmen said on Thursday.

President Zelensky wrote to Donald Trump and the members of the US Congress this week to request additional Patriot systems and interceptors – the only effective shield against Russia’s ballistic missiles in Ukraine’s arsenal.

After meeting with Zelensky in Kyiv, Senator Richard Blumenthal of Connecticut said the United States had complied several times in the ‌past with Kyiv’s requests for additional weapons.

“My hope and expectation is that America will respond positively to this request,” said Blumenthal, speaking alongside US Representative ‌Jim Himes, a fellow Democrat.

Both congressmen, Blumenthal said, ‌would lobby on their return to Washington for additional air defence interceptors for Ukraine and tougher sanctions on Russia: “What we will regard as our mission, as we go back, is to make sure that Ukraine has the means to do the job.”

Why did American diplomats leave Ukraine? Embassy response sparks new questions

The U.S. Embassy in Kyiv has firmly denied reports suggesting a change in its operations, asserting it remains open despite recent warnings from Russia and conflicting statements from European officials. The denial came on Thursday, following Moscow’s advisories for diplomats and foreigners to leave the Ukrainian capital ahead of potential escalated attacks.

Confusion arose after some Ukrainian media cited remarks by European Union foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas. Speaking on the sidelines of an EU meeting in Cyprus, Kallas indicated that all foreign embassies in Kyiv had disregarded Moscow’s threats, “except one.” She stated, “What we heard from Ukraine yesterday was that all the embassies stayed except one. All the Europeans stayed. America left.” This prompted several EU states to summon Russian ambassadors after the warning was issued on Monday.

PakarPBN

A Private Blog Network (PBN) is a collection of websites that are controlled by a single individual or organization and used primarily to build backlinks to a “money site” in order to influence its ranking in search engines such as Google. The core idea behind a PBN is based on the importance of backlinks in Google’s ranking algorithm. Since Google views backlinks as signals of authority and trust, some website owners attempt to artificially create these signals through a controlled network of sites.

In a typical PBN setup, the owner acquires expired or aged domains that already have existing authority, backlinks, and history. These domains are rebuilt with new content and hosted separately, often using different IP addresses, hosting providers, themes, and ownership details to make them appear unrelated. Within the content published on these sites, links are strategically placed that point to the main website the owner wants to rank higher. By doing this, the owner attempts to pass link equity (also known as “link juice”) from the PBN sites to the target website.

The purpose of a PBN is to give the impression that the target website is naturally earning links from multiple independent sources. If done effectively, this can temporarily improve keyword rankings, increase organic visibility, and drive more traffic from search results.
